==Summary==
===The Game (that you just lost)===

You get a village on an island on some planet on a server in <del>Brazil</del>Germany it would seem. This planet, Ikariam, is covered in islands. It's also stuck in Roman Times, so it's somewhat more advanced then Tribal Wars civilizations but lolable to Astro Empires folks, who regularly pwn entire planets with fighter dropping. Each island has quite a few villages in it, and in the center is a temple thing, a lumbar yard and a special resource building, either Nugs, Marble, Crystal Meth or Sulfur. Everyone on the island pools resources into the facilities to upgrade them, except noobs are noobs so you and one other good player end up swinging most of it. You also of course have your own village, which can have research labs called Academies, and military camps, and boats. Boats are used for trade and war. Cargo boats are one of two uses for gold, the other being troop upkeep, buy boats early and often as they are win. Also unlike other games, research is cool. It has 4 tracks of study, Economy, Military, Naval and Science. You select one and they keep building down that track down a list, and you tell them to switch tracks when you want them too. You can basically leave them working until you get Wealth researched, then move on.
===What we're doing===

Fucking shit up. We are going to establish an Anonymous Empire, that will take the game by storm. It will be pretty win. And the game is much easier and much more 10-year-old filled then other more space-themed games. We're also destroying the people who have played this game for far too long, and leaving them in ruin, which is a very lulzworthy cause.

Here is the plan. We move to colonize coordinates 7:11 and the surrounding islands (pictured here, 7:11 has the arrow over it). This gives us access to all the major resources. Then, making no profit from each other, we build up each other with our 4 islands of resources, and establish colonies in distant lands around the colonized areas. We form a monopoly on the sulfur market(which really can't be done, given the way the game is set up, but we didn't really read how the warfare works so we think we're going to pull this off) which is the good that allows you to build war ships and troops. In this game, you can blockade harbors, so other people cannot trade. Then Anonymous sets the price for the materials at extremely high rates. Unable to gather enough to fight back, the rest of the game will be at our mercy for us to move into other markets, such as Marble or Crystal Meth (yes, it's a resource). We will progressively take over the game from our capital at 7:11.

*<del> The sulphur plan seems to be pretty much impossible. We need a new strategy to fuck shit up. For now this is a waiting based game, build up your strength and colonize so we are strong enough for lulz. </del>

*<del> The sulphur plan does seem a bit impossible, but if we can control all the sulfur islands for around a 10 island radius we should be able to control that market then slowly expand. </del>

* Destroy All <del>HumansDevels </del>

==How to start==

Protip: Mac users should install [[AlarmClock]] so you can maximize efficiency with building upgrades.

#Immediately build an Academy and assign all of your workers to the sawmill.
#DO NOT waste lumber on Barracks or slingers until this pattern is done.
#Once the Academy is finished, assign the maximum amount of scientists and begin researching toweards Expansion.
#Upgrade Academy to level 2, assign the maximum amount of scientists.
#Start the upgrade to level 3. Immediately reduce the number of sawmill workers, probably to about 10.
#Once the upgrade is finished, assign the maximum amount of scientists again. You may need to reduce the workers to 5, and you'll still have negative gold income. Don't worry, you'll break even before it runs out.

Begin by researching economy until Wealth. This will automatically switch you to Well Digging when complete, and allows for trade ships and the support of our empire. It still takes 3 hours time, and you can upgrade your academy once before upgradeing the town hall to match population growth (6 hours or so after you start).

Next, research:

#Paper (if you want 2% research boost)
#Economy until Wealth (Allows you to use your island's special resource, and gives you 50 of each special resource)
#Seafaring until Expansion.
#Military : Dry-Dock

Some things from research are broken! Check [board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127 board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127] for details and choose wisely where you spend your research points. With the addition of action points the best strategy is to colonize within a two hour distance from your island.

Protip: Focus on research that speaks to your primary Resource.

===Explanation about Gold Income===

* Each citizen produces 4 gold per hour
* Each worker produces 0 gold per hour
* Each researcher costs 8 gold per hour
* Units and war ships in your town cost the stated upkeep
* Traveling units and war ships cost double the upkeep

Protip: Don't sell special resources for below 8 gold. It costs 8 gold per hour to make 1 resource.

===Explanation of Resources===

* Gold: Used as currency for trading mainly, also needed to buy cargo ships and 12000 gold needed to make another village, and give to the temple for blessing (don't know mechanics of that yet) <del>It kind of looks like the whole island gets the blessing.</del> The blessings are bugged, per [board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127 board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127]. Hoard jewgolds
* Building Material: Hmm, I dunno, maybe BUILDING? You get this from the wood place in the center of the island.
** Easily the most important resource, build that bitch up early if you are isolated. You'll need it for everything, including upgrading your mine or vineyard.

===Special Resources===

You only get these after you research Wealth. Your island has, besides the Wonder and the wood place, only one of the following. Research wealth to get 50 of each, but you basically need to start trading to get other stuff:

* Nugs: It makes people happy and increases your population rate if you have a tavern. Once you research Wealth you can grow this on island vineyards. Protip: Increasing tavern level also increases growth, even without serving wine.

* Marble: Used when building higher level buildings. You can get it from a marble quarry
* Crystal meth: Expansion of the Academy beyond Level 3 requires it. Also used to make spais and improvements to arms.
* Sulfur: Important, used for all military type things. You need it to make a swordsman or higher.

Each worker on a special resource provides 0.5 of a resource per hour, don't trade your resources for anything less than 8 gold a piece, as you would have made 8 gold if those workers were not mining. If you are the only person in your area selling your resource from a trading post, jew people as hard as you can.
===Explanation of Wonders===

Every island has a wonder that is devoted to a certain deity. Depending on the deity there is a bonus in a certain area. A blessing from the deity can be obtained through honest prayers and a lot of donated gold. You can't miss it, its in the middle of the island and is XBOX HUEG. BLESSING IS NOT THE BONUS. The bonus is constant. The blessing require a large donation, but is very broken in the game (donations make the required amount go up).

The paid blessings are bugged, per board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127, but the constant blessings work. Hoard jewgolds

    * Hephaistos' Forge: The amount of mined sulphur is boosted by 10%. 200% mining blessing
    * Temple of Gaia: The amount of quarried marble is boosted by 10% 200% mining blessing
    * Garden of Dionysus: The production of nugs is boosted by 10%. 200% growing blessing
    * Temple of Athene: The mining of crystal is boosted by 10%. 200% growing blessing
    * Temple of Hermes: Trade ships are cheaper and also have a better defense value. ??? blessing
    * Ares' Stronghold: Soldiers and War Machines cost less. SPAAARRTAAAAAAAA!!!! ??? blessing
    * Temple of Poseidon: All war ships cost less Attack bonus for all ships of that island blessing
    * Colossus: Defense bonus for all troops (even those foreign to the island) that protect a town on the island. All towns are invincible blessing. In the event that Governor tech ever works, occupied towns are invincible (currently does not work according to board.ikariam.org/thread.php?threadid=7127)

[edit] Trading Basics

  1. Research Economy: Wealth
  2. Build a "Trading Post" (not "Trading Port")
  3. Buy special resources at 8 gold.
  4. Sell resources for XBOX HUEG prices.
  5. If you have excess resources, sell some to a /b/rother for his offering of 8 gold. Check the list before trading.

[edit] Making New Cities

As soon as you have researched Expansion you can build a palace. Each upgrade allows you to found a new town. You need 1,250 building material, 12,000 gold and 40 citizens for a new colony, as well as 5 available trading ships. Once you have fulfilled all requirements you only have to find a free town space on an island of your choice, click it and start colonizing. The Anonymous Empire will be centralized in the upper-left corner of the map. The co-ordinates are roughly [2:95] (thats the 'first' island)

    * [7:11] is MAED for us. Anons, we're heading there, and the islands surrounding it!

    * We're creating 4 centralized locations so people from all ends of the map have someplace to rally around.

    * Split the world into 4 quarters, with four centralized locations for each: 7:11 (since it's already established), 76:21/77:21 (0 inhabitants on GAMMA, as of 3/25/08), 23:74 (1 inhabitant), and 86:79 through 87:81 (0-2 inhabitants with 6 islands to choose from). This way, no matter where you are on the map there's always a "home base" to colonize around. The closer our islands are to their "base", the shorter our transit times will be for assisting in wars and trades.

To do this, if your capital resides in the following quadrant, establish colonies in the center ASAP:

    * Top-Left Quarter, from 1:1 to 49:49, your base is 7:11
    * Top-Right Quarter, from 50:1 to 99:49, your base is 76:21 (not yet established)
    * Bottom-Left Quarter, from 1:50 to 49:99, your base is 21:76 (Established [3/25]: strong military force there)
    * Bottom-Right Quarter, from 50:50 to 99:99, your base is 86:79 or surrounding islands--pick one

Check out this ghetto excel map--we're already pretty much everywhere, and clusters are beginning to appear.

It is very tempting to go to an island with sulfur to build up your army, however, marble is far more important. You need it to upgrade your palace, which is necessary to build more colonies. Go to an island with marble first, and harvest enough to upgrade your palace (unless you started on an island with marble, in which case you're good) and then move on to the other resources. Wine is important as well, since it speeds up your growth rate. If anything, focus on sulphur LAST---you'll be able to trade crystal/wine/marble with others for sulphur whenever you need some.

If your capital is on a non-marble island, your 1st colony should be marble. Then either wine or crystal. If you started with marble, get crystal next. This is because of the massive upgrade costs of your palace: 20,462 wood, 7,170 marble, and 4,780 crystal to upgrade your level 2 Palace to lever 3 (you also need a level 9 warehouse just to gather those resources).

YO! DIZ IS MAH ISLAND CLOCK

    * Because players can change their names, coordinate attacks based on COORDINATES and Island location (LIKE IT'S A CLOCK). Example, to attack "lol first" in the image to the right, ask people to attack (7:11)@6:00.
          o Valid "Island Clock" positions: 12:15, 1:00, 1:30, 2:30, 3:00 (inland), 3:30, 4:30, 5:15, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 8:30 (inland), 9:15, 10:30, 11:00, 11:45
          o Alternatively, you can just reference the city based on the games built in position system. To find out the number of a city, just go to an empty island and look.

[edit] LOWBIE ATTACKING

When you're starting out, look for the villages named Polis; these are the acc's that people make then forget about. Only attack Level 1 cities when you start, anything else and they will no doubt have good defenses. Keep an eye out as to who is hording the most wood, and has the smallest villages. These are ripe victims. Also note any bots, such as moneymakerXXX. These are also ripe for attack, unless they are owned by some uber guy, in which case you're fucked, but you could probably get their acc banned or something.

When first attacking, it is advisable to attack noob cities with no less than 3 slingers, as even with no defenses, you can still lose some units.

PROTIP: you need transport ships to loot anything but gold

Found a weak, easily pillaged city with no defenses and units but a assload of resources?

  1. Get 6 or 9 slingers
  2. Go to your island view
  3. Click the town
  4. Click pillage
  5. Set number of slingers to 3 (2 will also work and is more cost efficient)
  6. Attack
  7. Wait until they are on return
  8. Send the second wave of 3 slingers
  9. Continue until many waves are sent
  10. Wait
  11.  ???
  12. Profit: Get multiple wins equal to the amount you would have gotten if you sent all units at the same time
  13. Operation can be repeated up to (and including) 6 times per 24hrs as per the rules; Stick to six and the mods will leave you alone...

(Note: Always have a deployment at your base if possible, for defense)

Also, no matter how low their defenses are, you are almost guaranteed to lose at least 1 slinger per attack.
[edit] ADVANCED ATTACKING

Choosing a target:

Choose the island that contains the resource that you need most. Focus on a town that is a lower level than your own. Once you have chosen a target search the highscore and examine their points to make sure you are not attacking a colony. 2. Preparing for the attack:

1.  Send a spy to the chosen destination. The presence of counterspais makes it more
    difficult.  Scout around for a town that gives a low percentage for detection.  You'll see this
    when you click the send spai buttan.  The higher the level of your hideout, the more effective
    your spais are.

2.  Once your spy has infiltrated begin to inspect the level/absence of the following buildings.
    This can be done by hovering your cursor over their buildings.

    1. Port      The higher level the port the more that will be looted, if the port is level one
                  or non-existent, forget this town and go back to choosing another target.  Your
                  troops spend 20 minutes loading up the ships.  The total you can get in one raep
                  is the amount that port can load per minute times 20.  Higher port levels mean
                  more profit.
    2. Wall      If the wall is less than level three or is not built a ram is not needed. If
                  the wall is greater then level three, one or MORE rams is a MUST.
    3. Barracks  The Barracks level can reflect the type of troops the enemy could have.
                  Example: lvl 3 Swordsman, Lvl 4 Phalanx, Lvl 7 Archer...
    4. Shipyard  The Level of the Shipyard also reflects the type of the ships if the Level of
                  the Shipyard is high it is more likely they have ships, this will determine
                  whether or not you should send a blockade.

3. Spy Missions: Remember to wait a while after the spai arrives to do these. When the chance of detection falls to 5%, then do these missions.

        1. Check warehouse - Inspects what resources the target has to see if it's worth raiding.
        2. Check Garrison - Inspects the current troops and ships so you know what to send.
          If spais aren't working you can send a slinger to an hero himself.  Then check the battle
          report to see the defensive strength.

    * Protip- When your spai successfully completes a mission, make sure you dont click somewhere else and then click the back button to get back to the results page, as this performs the mission again.

Make sure you have you have cargo ships set aside to gather the resources. You can predict how many ships you need based on the level of their port. There's 300 capacity for each ship. Here's the max you can steal from each level of port in one raid:

        Level 1:  300  <--meaning you don't need an extra ship
        Level 2:  600
        Level 3:  1160
        Level 4:  1840
        Level 5:  2620  <--that means you'll need 9 available ships.  The one you sent the army on,
                          plus 8 more.

3. More detailed attacking

It's common to see towns with level one walls and no troops. These can be taken with 3 swordsmen every time and you'll never lose one. Once you know his defensive strength, send an overwhelming force. You don't want the battle to go on for multiple rounds. You'll lose more troops. If his port level is not high enough to steal everything in one go, send multiple waves.

  1.  Send the overwhelming force
  2.  Wait 25 minutes to account for the twenty minutes your troops spend loading the cargo ships.
  3.  Send a small force.  After the first wave, the raep victim will have no units on defense.
        Three swordsmen is good so that you don't have units dying on the walls.  Keep in mind if
        you're attacking another island, you'll be sending this wave before the first gets there.
        If timed properly, the second wave will arrive 5 minutes after the first wave finishes
        loading the ships and starts heading back.
  4.  Repeat until he's broke.

ThreeFour things can happen now.

    1.  Nothing.
    2.  You get a message from a butthurt faggot bawwwwwwwwwing.
    3.  He threatens raep (Which is the what next section is for.)
    4.  You get reported for Bashing. (Enjoy your ban.)

[edit] Defending from faggots

Build a Warehouse as soon as possible. It protects your wood and other resources from being stolen by attackers, up to a limit.

    * Level 1 Warehouse Protects:
          o Wood: 140
          o Nugs: 70
          o Marble: 70
          o Crystal Glass: 70
          o Sulfur: 70

    * Level 2 Warehouse Protects:
          o Wood: 190
          o Nugs: 90
          o Marble: 90
          o Crystal Glass: 90
          o Sulfur: 90

    * Level 3 Warehouse Protects:
          o Wood: 240
          o Nugs: 120
          o Marble: 120
          o Crystal Glass: 120
          o Sulfur: 120

Build a wall, adds extra defense to your village. You get a ten percent bonus to defense for every wall level. The bonus is related to your town level. If the wall's level is lower than the town hall level, it's less effective.

Having one boat on defense in your harbor is a MUST. If someone attacks you from another island and sends no warships it will fail, even if you only have one ram there. They may decide not to attack you if it involves sending warships.

As soon as you get phalanxes use them on defense. They get a 30% bonus to their defense when they fight on defense. That equals 53 defense for one phalanx. Due to that bonus, they are also the best defensive unit until gunsman. (Which can't be obtained for a LONG FUCKING TIME.) So upgrading them is worth it. A large number of phalanx defending is impossible to overcome without loads of strong units, like archers.
[edit] Anon Alliances

This is a list of the KNOWN anon alliances in Ikariam. If one is full, join the next down on the list. More = decentralized = harder to attack, plus each embassy level costs more but yields the same diplomat points. To join an alliance, you need Foreign Cultures researched and Embassy built

Alliances cost XBOX HUEG amounts of resources to upgrade, so to keep costs down and hide our numbers we'll make lots of small alliances. If you can't find an alliance to join, make your own and update this section.

Join alliance by region.

[edit] Anon List

For a list of Anons playing this godforsaken game, refer to the Gamma Base Locations, and add yourself if you did not already.

ALSO:

For the Anons who are on Theta because of the Gamma server being full, go to Theta Base Locations and go add yourself.
[edit] Alt Accounts

Personally, I do not think that they use IP's to detect alt accounts, as this would remove the little school children from the game. Hey, they actually do, so get some proxies to use for each account. I believe cookies are used to store info, so to make alt accounts, clear your cookies before each login. Don't forget to add alt acc's to the anon list, but to be safe in case of spais, don't say that it is an alt.

"Each player is allowed to control no more then a single account per World (Server). If two or more accounts are usually, occasionally, or permanently being played from the same network a GameOperator must be notified, without exception. In these cases the accounts will not be able to have
[edit] Exploits and Protips

Verified:

    * HALF-ASSED ACTION POINT "EXPLOIT" FOUND (SORT OF)

    If you have towns that are close enough to each other that they can talk to each other's trading post that you wish to transport goods between, put the amount you wish to sell up for 99 gold a pop on the town that you wish to send the goods from, and then go to the town you wish to receive them and buy these goods from yourself.

    * CONFIRMED (sort of): A town with zero action points can put goods up for sale, but this deducts one point from the colony making the purchase. So it's good if your colony has extra points and needs resources, while your capital has zero points and can't transfer goods. Point system=improved game for non-n00bs.

    * You can send goods WITHOUT a trading port by using a direct "send goods" link.

    * If you are being attacked load up all your shit into boats then destroy your port before it's done loading. Only way this is odd mechanically is that your resources seem to go unavailable as soon as they hit the docks.

    * When you research Museums and start getting requests for cultural treaties, open all the incoming requests in separate windows so you can click to accept them all really fast. It takes their shitty database some time to update and you can accept more treaties than you have room for so other Anon can begin to benefit before your slow ass builds more museums. Similarly you can mass-offer and get more treaties than you should be able to. It's really nice to have plenty of treaties ready for your expanding museums.

Unverified:

    * If you know that you're about to be attacked (keep checking the military adviser and movements); put your resources into the trading post and charge a ridiculous price. Put as much as you can until the number of resources at the top of the screen is lower than your warehouse protection limit. As it shows it as having a safe number of resources, you may be fine, and just pull the stuff off the trading post when the attack is over. FAIL! Shows up in warehouse, just not at top of screen. Must be investigated further. In the warehouse the "total" column shows as much as the top bar does. Still a possible exploit. Disregard that, items for sale are still vulnerable to raids and raep.

    * So i was checking the trading post for some marble and i saw 150 marble for 7 gold a piece. very cheap price for the things i seen so far. so i pay the gold and my boat goes out to get it. but my boat returns no marble and no gold back. so i think what the guy did was when he got the gold. removed it from the trading post. leaving me with no marble and no gold. haven't tested it yet. maybe someone give it a go I'm not sure how it works fully.You need two anons for this. Anon1 blockades anon2. anon2 posts 400 marble @ 5-10 gold each. other villages will try to buy from anon2 who is under blockade from anon1. anon1 rapes the gold, and profits. This might also work the same way if anon2 lists in trade post that he is looking to buy 400 marble at 50-100 gold ea. other vilages will send 400 marble thinking that anon2 is buying, but then run into anon1's blokaid and hand over their resources. (unverified)
          o Might have to worry about other people on the island buying your shit. I don't know if they go through land to trade for that. An easy solution is to have an island where there's nobody here but us chickens. Like what 711 will be.

Debunked:

    * I have a colony on a seperate Island. It mines Crystal Meths. I sent one of my own ships over to my colony to BUY the crystal meths. And Like magic, out of nowhere, I got 2K. For paying for my own goods. Possibly exploitable.

PROTIPS:

    * If you need a serious dose of anything, wood, money etc. Set yourself to get just what you need only en masse. Example: if you need more gold, remove all your workers. Wait for it over night, and when you wake up the next morning, you will have excess of what you need.

    * Research points are only spent when COMPLETING a research. (Oh exploitable)

    * If you are being attacked and have unprotected resources DESTROY your own trading PORT. This will slow down the resources your enemies take (check the help files).

    * If you are getting blockaded and mercilessly dominated, donate wood to your wood/luxury mines so the asshat can't benefit.

[edit] Bugs

    * Bug list maintined by Ikariam mods
    * Implemented / not implemented list maintained by user
    * worst fucking bugs ever:

  1. Helping Hands research does not effect luxury resources: Although on the Quarry menu it shows you as getting more resources for Sulpher, Marble, Crystal Glass and Wine- in fact, you only get as many resources as you would if you had the max normal workers on.
  2. Trade bug: It sometimes happens that if the receiver of goods doesn't have enough space in his warehouse that the goods are lost.
  3. Fleet doesn't return - REPORT STUCK SHIPS HERE: Sometimes it happens that the fleet (cargo or war ships) doesn't returns to their home port.

Here is a script that will enable the viewing of additional data when scouting for potential lulzcows. See thread:

LOL we stole a GO account on iota server, banned the top 500, stole loads of accounts, took over all the major alliances, witnessed major BAWWWWW, and had many lulz.  Many hours later, the server was so trashed, it had to be loaded from a backup.  But all the premium users still lost the ambrosia they spent that day permanently, costing them real money.  WIN

They recently opened up a new server.  Of course we raped it with niggerbots, causing it to fill up before everyone could get in.  When the spam was finally removed, the real players left over were hopelessly spread out , meaning little trade or pillaging for them, and a permanently shit server.
